BEST in the WEST since 1949

Back in 1949, Chris Pelonis came across an empty storefront in downtown Lynwood, California that seemed perfect for his dream to open a Bar-B-Q restaurant. He borrowed $2,000 from his father and with his partner Morris Pittman created the first of Chris’ & Pitt’s Restaurants. It wasn’t much to look at with wooden benches and sawdust strewn floors but as word spread of the unique flavor of their original Bar-B-Q sauce, the house filled up every night. Today, great care is taken to maintain the quality of the Bar-B-Q sauce so that the brand that was created over 60 years ago stays the Best in the West!
